Krikou stresses entrepreneurship accessibility for people with special needs

ALGIERS- Minister of National Solidarity, the Family and Women Affairs Kaouter Krikou insisted Thursday, in Algiers, on accompanying people with special needs to further facilitate their access to entrepreneurship and thus assure their economic integration.

During visits to the training center for people with disabilities in Kouba and the vocational training center specializing in training housewives, in El Achour, the minister said that the sector of national solidarity is working in coordination with the relevant sectors to accompany “the people with special needs, who graduate from training centers, to bolster their economic integration by encouraging them to launch projects that match their disability, as part of the entrepreneurship efforts.”

Krikou also underscored the importance given by the State to people with special needs, particularly through measures adopted for the care of this category and its socio-economic integration, highlighting the strategy of the national solidarity sector in terms of pedagogical and psychological care provided at the level of 239 specialized institutions and 17 annexes.

In this regard, the minister announced that her sector will launch awareness campaigns supervised by the local committee of the Social Development Agency (ADS).

These campaigns are aimed to spotlight the offered specialties and entrepreneurship support mechanisms, in addition to organizing an exhibition of products made by people with special needs.[/ecr]
