The heaviest toll was recorded in the province of Algiers where 5 persons died and 129 others were injured due to 148 traffic accidents.

Besides, the Civil Protection units carried out 858 interventions to extinguish 515 fires particularly the urban and industrial, the largest of which were recorded in the provinces of Algiers (70 fires), Oran (41) and Blida (28), added the same source.

According to the same toll, 6573 interventions were carried out by Civil Protection during the same period to rescue 611 persons in danger, as well as 5676 various assistance operations.[/ecr]
