ALGIERS- The 1st group of Algerian pilgrims left Monday Houari Boumediene International Airport of Algiers for the Holy Places of Islam, to perform the rites of Hajj 2024.

This group, which comprises about 70 pilgrims, as well as 160 members of the national hajj mission, was greeted by the minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad Ahmed Attaf, the minister of Religious Affairs and Wakfs Youcef Belmehdi, the minister of Communication Mohamed Laagab, the minister of Transports Mohamed El-Habib Zahana, as well as the Director General of the National Office of Pilgrimage and Umrah (ONPO) Salah Bouterfa.

The hajjis were also greeted by the Director General of the Civil Protection Boughelaf Boualem, the Director General of Customs, Major General Abdelhafid Bakhouche, Director General of Air Algerie Hamza Benhamouda, the Chief Executive Officer of Algiers Airport Services and Infrastructure management Company (SGSIA) Mokhtar Said Mediouni, as well as representatives of ministerial sectors and official bodies as well as the Saudi ambassador to Algiers Abdullah Bin Nasser Al Bussairi.
