Road accidents : 51 deaths, 1853 injuries in one week

ALGIERS- Fifty-one (51) people died and 1853 others were injured in 1507 road accidents that occurred from 30 June to 6 July across the country, the Civil Protection said Tuesday in its weekly toll.

The heaviest toll was recorded in Tindouf province with 5 deaths and 6 injuries, in 3 road accidents, said the same source.

 The Civil Protection units intervened for the extinction of 2087 urban, industrial and other fires, mostly in Algiers with (202 fires), Annaba (106) and Blida (100), said the press release.

 A total of 7424 interventions were conducted by the Civil Protection units during the same period to rescue 452 people in dangerous situations, and to carry out 6448 diverse assistance operations.[/ecr]
