Friday sermon: Protecting country, upholding its constants and potentialities

ALGIERS — In mosques nationwide, imams called on worshippers in their Friday sermon to protect the country and uphold its core values and potentialities, stressing the importance of a high voter turnout in the September 7 presidential election, being a right and a duty.

The imams of the Republic emphasized, in their sermon, the religious values and precepts that promote patriotism and the importance of upholding the country's constants, defending it and preserving its security and stability, in addition to the need to build upon its achievements.

This Friday's sermon provided an opportunity for the imams to recall the advent of Mawlid, the sacred month marking the birth of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), celebrated by Algerians for over a month to reflect on the teachings and good guidance of the Prophet (PBUH.)

During this Friday's sermon, the rector of Djamaa El Djazair, Mohamed Maamoun Al Kacimi Al Hoceini, highlighted the importance of participating in the presidential election of September 7, being a national duty that can contribute to bolstering national unity and consolidating the cohesion of Algerian society.

He also called everyone to “adhere to the principles and constants of the nation and to remain faithful to the oath of the martyrs.”
