In a speech delivered on the occasion of this ceremony, held at Dely Brahim retirement home, Krikou highlighted the state’s commitment to the elderly, and this through the implementation of the set programs and a legal arsenal aimed at protecting, promoting and safeguarding this section of society.
The minister further recalled the decisions taken by President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune in this regard, including the revaluation of retirement pensions and fixed solidarity allowance (AFS).
While recalling the state’s willingness to revise the law related to safeguarding older persons and to adapt it to their current requirements, the minister mentioned the measures adopted by the sector to provide psychological and social care for the elderly.
On this occasion, the minister kicked off a campaign to raise awareness of the risks of breast cancer, organized nationwide by local solidarity units, in coordination with the health sector services and the participation of several associations in this field.
