Nadjiba Djilali takes offices as Minister of Environment, Quality of Life

ALGIERS-Nadjiba Djilali took up Tuesday, her duties as Minister of Environment and Quality of Life, replacing Fazia Dahleb, who occupied the post of Minister of Environment and Renewable Energy, following the cabinet reshuffle carried out Monday by the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune.

During the ceremony for transfer of power, held at the headquarters of the ministry in the presence of senior officials and heads of affiliated organizations, Djilali expressed gratitude to the president of the Republic for the confidence placed in her to run this sector, which is directly linked to the citizens and the improvement of their lives.

On this occasion, the new minister highlighted the importance of combining efforts and involving citizens and the civil society in achieving the sector's goals, in accordance with the guidelines of the President of the Republic.

A Law graduate, lawyer and an elected member of Sidi M’hamed Province, Djilali is the first women having occupied the post of President of the People’s Provincial Assemblies (APW) of Algiers since the independence.[/ecr]
