In her opening address to the meeting, themed "Palestine, A National Cause for Algeria", being held at the Palace of Culture Moufdi Zakaria (December 16-19) under the sponsorship of the Ministry, Mouloudji said that the literary forum "is an opportunity to recall that Algeria's position in favour of the Palestinian cause is constant and unwavering, and remains a major cause for us, leaders and people alike".

Algeria "remains faithful to its commitment to the triumph of the Palestinian cause", underlined the Minister, recalling that the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, had repeatedly affirmed, since the beginning of the latest aggression of the Zionist entity against Gaza, that the struggle of the Palestinian people and their revolution for freedom can in no way be qualified as terrorism, and that Algeria will spare no effort for the triumph of the Palestinian cause.”

The opening ceremony featured poetry recitals by several participants, including Lakhder Fellous (Algeria), Hanane Ferfour (Lebanon), Issam El Saadi (Palestine), Abdelkader El Hasni (Syria) and Ali El Kilani (Libya).

Organized by the Algerian Federation of Culture and Arts, the event will feature conferences at the University of Algiers II and III on resistance literature, Palestinian literature and the image of Palestine in literary texts and school curricula in Algeria, as well as poetry evenings and lectures on the role of elites in the world and the causes of liberation.[/ecr]
