Representing Algeria, the National Graphic Arts Company (ENAG) will be exhibiting in a stand featuring more than 650 cultural, literary and intellectual books by 24 Algerian publishers, in a range of specialities including history, literature, philosophy, non-fiction and children's literature, reflecting Algeria's rich cultural heritage.
Marked by the participation of 314 publishers from 25 countries, the 38th Tunis International Book Fair is being held under the slogan "Solidarity with the Palestinian people, at a time when the Gaza Strip continues to suffer, since October 2023, from the aggression of the Zionist terrorist army, which has so far cost the lives of more than 34,000 martyrs, and caused tens of thousands of injuries and missing persons, as well as the destruction of buildings and homes.
The event's organizers said that this year's slogan was chosen to "denounce the barbaric crimes perpetrated by the Zionist occupation, and to break the intellectual siege that they are trying to impose," because what is at stake today is a battle for "cultural existence."
"Preserving of cultural heritage is therefore at the heart of the conflict," added the organizers. [/ecr]
