Independence Day: Algeria's embassy in The Hague holds 1st Algerian Festival of Cultural Heritage

The HAGUE- The Embassy of Algeria in The Hague, The Netherlands, as part of the celebration of the 62nd Independence and Youth Day, held the 1st Algerian Festival of Cultural Heritage, attended by the members of the national community in the Netherlands, the friends of the Algerian Revolution, and heads of the diplomatic corps accredited to the country.

Hosted by the embassy on July 6-7, the festival featured an exhibition of traditional national dishes and other Algerian handicrafts, in addition to Algerian film screening on the Revolution, shedding light on Algeria's cultural and historical heritage.

Algeria's ambassador to The Netherlands, Salima Abdelhak, made an address in which she stressed the historical importance of July 5, paying tribute to the martyrs, who sacrificed their lives for Algeria's independence and freedom.

In her speech, Abdelhak put forward Algeria's progress since independence.

"After independence, Algeria immediately started the development process and has been renewing itself until today, making many achievements that have considerably improved the country at all levels."

Algeria, under the leadership of the president of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, has seen a "rapid growth in the economic, social and cultural fields, aimed at strengthening economic growth through the encouragement of domestic and foreign investments, the development of infrastructure, and the support of key sectors, such as industry, agriculture and energy," the diplomat said.
