Chairing a coordination meeting devoted to organizing the 27th SILA 2024, at the headquarters of her department and in the presence of ministry’s executives, the Fair's commissioner and members of the commission, the Minister of Culture and Arts, Soraya Mouloudji gave instructions concerning the final program of this cultural event, emphasizing "the importance of ensuring that this edition is successful and exceptional, especially as it coincides with the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Glorious Revolution".
The 70th anniversary of the outbreak of the Glorious War of Liberation (1954-2024) will be at the center of this edition, given "the great importance of this historical event for the nation's memory". The public will thus have a rendezvous with history, by organizing intellectual and literary conferences on the Revolution of November 1, 1954 and its influence on the peoples of the world, with the participation of national and international personalities.
The Palestinian cause will also feature prominently at the Fair, with several conferences addressing themes such as "Resistance Literature in Palestine", "Palestine in Algerian Poetry", and "Cinema's Response to Zionism", among others.
Other conferences on translation, novel, literature and intellectual thought in their African and Arab dimensions, with themes such as "Algeria-Qatar: writings that bring us together", or "Question of decolonization: Western Sahara, the last colony in Africa".
This edition will also honor various Algerian and international cultural and literary figures, as reported by the same source.
