FIOFA: Palestinian documentary films deal with genocidal war in Gaza

ORAN - The first part of a Palestinian documentary film project titled "Zero Distance" was screened on Monday, in Oran, as part of the 12th  Oran International Arab Film Festival, in the section "Zero Distance... from Gaza to Oran".

These films are an exceptional example of confrontation and challenge by the Palestinian filmmakers, who unveiled the living conditions of the Palestinian population in Gaza, said the Festival Commissioner Abdelkader Djeriou in his opening speech for this screening, recalling the position of the Algerian people and government in support of the Palestinian cause and in solidarity with the Palestinian people, unwavering in the face of the war machine of the Zionist entity.

The first part of this project includes 11 films out of 22, created by 22 Palestinian directors, which were filmed in Gaza during the ongoing Zionist aggression, with limited capabilities, in tents and amid the destruction left by the Zionist aggression and the various forms of crimes committed every day, with the aim of exterminating the Palestinian people and erasing their history.

Many people attended the films of the first part, namely "Selfie" by Rima Mahmoud, "La Ichara " by Mohamed Cherif, " Syrian Cinema" by Ahmed Hassouna, "Flash Back " by Islam Zerai, "Sada" (echo) by Mustapha Kilab, " Koul Chaia Ala Ma Youram " (everything is alright) by Nidal Damou, " Bouchra Naima " (soft skin) by Khamis Machharaoui , "Sahar "de Bachar Belbissi, " Moualim " (teacher) by Tamer Nedjm, "Study Day" by Ahmed -Danaf and " Over Load " by Alaa Islam Ayoub.

These films tell the details of the daily life of Gaza's inhabitants, who suffer from various forms of crimes committed against them by the Zionist entity, since October 7 of last year, with visions, experiences, creative ideas and artistic styles that differ from one director to another.[/ecr]
