[ecr] Belaïd has been awarded this prize thanks to "his valuable contributions to the service of the Arabic language and the strengthening of Arab identity, particularly through his scientific research and writings on the history of the Arabic language and the study of its issues, such as Arabization, terminology, identity, and civilization."
His award is the result of "the efforts he made during his leadership of the HCLA in Algeria, which aim to develop language policies and encourage scientific research in the fields of language and literature," in addition to "his significant participation in international conferences and scientific symposia."
Furthermore, individuals and institutions from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), China, and Saudi Arabia were also awarded.
The award, which will be presented on November 24 in the Saudi capital Riyadh, is granted to individuals and institutions excelling in four areas: "teaching and learning of the Arabic language," "Arabic language digitization through new technologies," "scientific research and studies on the Arabic language," as well as "linguistic awareness and creation of community-based language initiatives."
