70th Anniversary of Liberation War Outbreak: Epic show "Rouh El Djazaïr" opens in Algiers

ALGIERS- The extensive epic show entitled "Rouh El Djazaïr" (The Soul of Algeria), directed by Ahmed Rezzak, was performed on Wednesday evening in Algiers to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the outbreak of the glorious War of Liberation.

[ecr] Produced by the Ministry of Mujahidin and Rights Holders, this show took place at the Mohamed Boudiaf Olympic Complex in Algiers.

The magnificent show, "Rouh El Djazaïr," was attended by President of the Council of the Nation, Saleh Goudjil, Prime Minister Nadir Larbaoui, President of the Constitutional Court Omar Belhadj, Minister of Mujahidin and Rights Holders Laïd

Rebiga, several government members, former Mujahidin, political and artistic figures, as well as representatives of various diplomatic missions accredited in Algiers.

Marked by the participation of 138 teams, including numerous groups of scenographers, composers, costume designers, and staging assistants, the show required two months of preparation.

It combined acting, choreography, music, singing, technology, and audiovisual effects (mapping, holograms, giant projections, 360-degree interactive screens, screen walls, and spatial audio in 4K).

Nearly 1,000 Algerian and international artists and technicians highlighted Algeria’s ancient history across 13 scenes.

The journey spans from Numidia to French colonization and finally, the Glorious Revolution for Algeria’s Independence, with intermediate historical phases expressed through poetic or sung texts performed by the choir ensemble. [/ecr]
