Two Algerian artists win international miniature, illumination competition

TLEMCEN-Two artists from Algeria and Pakistan clinched first place in the international miniature and illumination competition, as part of the 14th International Cultural Festival dedicated to these arts, which was wrapped up Saturday evening at Abdelkrim Dali Palace of Culture in Tlemcen.

First place in miniature art was awarded to Hamaza Fawzi from Algeria, while the Pakistani, Ahmed Waqar, won first prize in the illumination art competition.

Second place in miniature art went to Kasimov Obeidullah from Uzbekistan, followed by Houha Nawal from Algeria. The Iranian artist, Darya Novin, won second place in illumination.

Third place was awarded to the Algerian Aiouane Moundir.

Moreover, the best works presented during this edition were selected among 23 entries in miniature and illumination by a jury composed of artists from Algeria, Kuwait and Turkey.

A documentary about this edition was screened, followed by lute music performances by artist Mustapha Bechelaghem.

This international cultural festival, organized over four days, recorded the participation of 47 artists from 18 countries presenting approximately 140 works of art, according to the event organizers. [/ecr]
