Algeria's International Health and Medical Tourism Fair to open Wednesday in Algiers

ALGIERS-Algeria's International Health and Medical Tourism Fair “Clinvest Expo” will open on Wednesday at the Exhibition Palace (Pins Maritimes) in Algiers, on the initiative of the Algerian Economic Revival Council (CREA), to showcase the Algerian healthcare system to citizens and African countries, CREA said in a press release.

Placed under the patronage of the Minister of Tourism and Handicrafts, this event “is part of the national policy to promote the Algerian healthcare system. It follows statistics showing that many Algerian patients travel abroad each year for treatment while the potential of the Algerian healthcare system remains under-exploited,” said the source.

The show will bring together all the key players in the sector, including public and private healthcare establishments, medical equipment suppliers, pharmaceutical laboratories, the pharmaceutical industry and medical devices, to “showcase the range and quality of healthcare in our country to our fellow citizens, and thus limit medical tourism to other countries,” said CREA.

The organizers also stress that the event “aims to make our country a destination of choice in terms of healthcare services, pharmaceutical products and medical equipment for African patients and importers.”

In addition, the show will also provide an opportunity for scientific papers to be given by eminent Algerian medical professors, as well as screening operations for visitors.[/ecr]
