“The rankings featured 2,152 universities across 124 nations, with 54 Algerian institutions making the list, which represents a significant jump from just 12 ranked in the previous 2023 edition. This allowed Algeria to secure the top spot in the rankings at the Maghreb, African and Arab levels, in terms of the number of ranked higher education institutions,” the statement said.
“The University of Oum El Bouaghi secured the top national ranking, ranked 401-600th worldwide. This mirrors the sector’s commitment to enhance the world rankings of national higher education institutions, and to work towards implementing appropriate mechanisms to boost the visibility of these university institutions internationally,” the same source noted.
