Interior Minister underscores importance of local officials' role in addressing citizens' concerns

ALGIERS — The Minister of the Interior, Local Authorities and National Planning, Brahim Merad, underscored on Saturday the importance of the role of local officials in managing essential public services and addressing citizens' concerns, in line with the instructions of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the ministry said in a statement.

On the sidelines of the opening ceremony of the new training year, which he chaired at the National School of Administration, Merad met with the governors of the Republic participating in this meeting.

On this occasion, he emphasized the “major role of local officials at all levels during this period in effectively managing essential public services and addressing citizens' concerns, in line with the instructions of the President of the Republic,” the same source noted.

Merad called on the governors to “continue proactive efforts in anticipation of potential autumn and winter risks, take all measures to protect citizens and their property, enhance health vigilance nationwide, intensify the fieldwork of municipal health offices and relevant local committees and bolster preventive measures.”
