RAMALLAH, Jan 26 (KUNA) -- A Palestinian young man was martyred Sunday from gunshot wounds inflicted by Israeli forces in Jenin, raising the death toll in the area to 16 since the start of the ongoing military operation on January 21, including a young girl.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health (MoH) reported in a press statement that 26-year-old Abdul Jawad Al-Ghoul succumbed to critical injuries he sustained in Jenin last Tuesday.
The ministry on Saturday announced the death of 2.5-year-old Layla Al-Khatib, who was killed by Israeli gunfire in Muthalath Al-Shuhada area of Jenin.
Jenin Governor Kamal Abu Rab expressed concerns about more casualties in the besieged Jenin refugee camp, where rescue teams are unable to access due to ongoing Israeli restrictions, and noted that Israeli forces are preventing journalists from approaching the camp's entrances.
In his statement, Abu Rab mentioned that the occupation has destroyed 20 homes in the camp and is dividing it into four sections by demolishing streets, blowing up homes, and setting them on fire. (end)
