BEIRUT, Jan 26 (KUNA) -- Lebanese caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati called on all countries that sponsored the ceasefire agreement with Israeli occupation forces to assume their responsibilities and stop the aggression.
A Mikati office statement urged these countries to uphold the ceasefire deal; signed November 27, 2024, and take action to stop the Israeli aggression on Lebanese territories.
Meanwhile, Lebanon's Ministry of Health Emergency Operations Center announced in a statement that the death toll from Israeli occupation gunfire in southern villages has risen to three, with at least 22 others injured.
Separately, the Lebanese Army confirmed that one of its members was killed and another injured due to direct gunfire by Israeli occupation in southern Lebanon.
It also affirmed its commitment to facilitating the return of displaced Lebanese to their villages and supporting them against the Israeli occupation continuous aggression.
The ceasefire agreement required Israeli occupation to withdraw from Lebanese territories within 60 days. However, Israel has openly stated it had no intention to meet the deadline. (pickup previous) fz.sar
