WASHINGTON, Jan 30 (KUNA) -- Rescue efforts are continuing to search for survivors of an American Airlines commercial passenger plane that crashed near Ronald Reagan Airport in Washington, DC, security officials said Wednesday.
US media reported, quoting security officials, that "there are confirmed deaths in the incident and we have not found any survivors yet." Rescue teams continue to search the Potomac River, where the plane carrying 60 passengers crashed, but the low temperatures in the river complicate rescue efforts and reduce the chances of finding survivors, they added.
Earlier, a commercial passenger plane crashed after colliding with a military helicopter in the air near Ronald Reagan National Airport adjacent to the capital, Washington. (end) amm.aa
