WASHINGTON, Jan 30 (KUNA) -- US Secretary of State Marco Rubio discussed bilateral cooperation on security and energy issues, as well as topics of common interest, with his Canadian counterpart Melanie Joly.
In a statement, State Department spokeswoman Tammy Bruce said late Wednesday that Secretary Rubio's discussions with the Canadian minister during the phone call focused on ways the US can work with Canada to address shared global challenges, secure borders, and secure energy.
According to the statement, Rubio praised Canada's role in confronting what he described as "coercive and unfair economic practices" imposed by China on the economy. (end)
