CAIRO, Feb 13 (KUNA) -- A Kuwaiti official called on an Arab meeting Thursday to seek more venues of cooperation within the social and economic sectors to spread welfare and meet future challenges.
Speaking to KUNA after the 115th meeting of the Arab League's Economic and Social Ministerial Council, acting assistant undersecretary at the Kuwaiti Ministry of Finance Talal Al-Nemesh said that the Arab gathering focused on means to expand Arab cooperation.
He revealed the meeting featured discussions on the Grand Arab free trade zone, developments on the unified Arab customs union and investments in the region.
Outcomes of previous economic and social meetings as well as follow-ups on the Arab strategic water security strategy and meeting challenges of sustainable development of 2030 were also be on the agenda, he indicated, adding that issues pertaining to support of small-to-medium size enterprises in Palestine and the Arab unified economic report of 2025 were touched upon.
Other issues connected to infrastructural development in Yemen, climate change and agricultural production, air cargo, transport of goods and emergency plans for natural and manmade disasters were amongst other many other important topics on the agenda, he affirmed. (pickup previous) mfm.gta
