KUWAIT, Feb 13 (KUNA) - His Highness the Amir's Representative, Minister of Information and Culture Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi on Thursday honored the winners of the 2024 Appreciation and Encouragement Awards alongside the 30th Qurain Cultural Festival Personality Award.
During the honoring ceremony of "Kuwait Capital of Culture and Arab Media 2025" at the National Stage of Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad's Cultural Center a number of attendants were present from Ministers to Culture and Media personal from the Arab world.
Al-Mutairi honored the personality of the Qurain Cultural Festival in its 30th session, Dr. Abdullah Al-Ghadami from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for his distinguished intellectual and cultural contributions that have enriched the Arab cultural field for decades.
He also honored the winners of the State Appreciation Awards for the year 2024, namely Dr. Moudi Al-Humoud in the field of social services, artist Khaled Al-Obaid in the field of arts and Sana Al-Kharraz in the field of cultural services.
Winners of the State Encouragement Awards were also honored, where the artists Zahraa Jassem won in the field of arts with the Fine and Applied Arts Awards, while television acting award was won by the artist Hussein Al-Haddad.
Minister Al-Mutairi honored the winners in the field of literature, starting with the poet Muhammad Sarkho winner of the poetry award, Humoud Al-Shayji with the Novel Award, Bassem Al-Wazzan with the children's literature Award, and Dr. Abbas Al-Haddad with the linguistics, literary, and critical studies Award, while in the fields of social sciences and humanities the Minister honored Nader Al-Azmi with the History and Antiquities Award.
Present at the honoring ceremony was the Secretary-General of the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters, Dr. Mohammad Al-Jassar, and Assistant Secretary-General of the Culture Sector in the Council, Aisha Al-Mahmoud. (end)
