BEIRUT, Feb 13 (KUNA) -- Lebanese chief legislator Nabih Berri emphasized Thursday his country's unequivocal rejection of the Israeli occupation's proposal to keep its forces in five points in southern Lebanon.
"The Americans (mediators) informed me that the Israeli occupation will pull out from some villages it currently occupies on February 18, but will maintain its presence in five points," Berri told reporters.
"But I have affirmed to them in my capacity and on behalf of President Joseph Aoun and Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, our absolute rejection of this proposal." Berri unveiled that he had refused any talks about extending the deadline of the Israeli forces' withdrawal from Southern Lebanon.
He added that the Americans are responsible for forcing the Israeli side to abide by the deadline and pull out its forces from Lebanon. (end) fz.ibi
