RIYADH, Feb 14 (KUNA) -- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia commended the phone call that took place between US President Donald J. Trump and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin two days ago.
The Ministry welcomed, in a press release on Friday, the announcement of the possible hosting by Saudi Arabia of a summit meeting between both leaders.
Over the last three years since the crisis broke out between Russia and Ukraine, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has continued making efforts to establish peace between the two neighbors and hosted several meetings in this regard, the statement noted.
In phone conversations with Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on March 3, 2022, Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammad bin Salman stated the Kingdom's desire to use its good offices to reach a peaceful solution to the crisis, it recalled.
On Wednesday, President Trump wrote on his Truth Social account that he had good conversations with Zelenskyy and Putin, noting that both of them want "to make PEACE." (end)
