KUWAIT, Feb 15 (KUNA) - Kuwait's Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi received on Saturday Omani Minister of Heritage and Tourism Salim Al Mahrouqi who is visiting Kuwait to attend the 9th GCC Ministerial Meeting for Tourism Officials.
Al-Mutairi highlighted to KUNA the strong historical ties between Kuwait and Oman, praising their ongoing cooperation, particularly in culture and tourism.
He reaffirmed Kuwait's commitment to supporting efforts to enhance the tourism sector in the GCC, attract more visitors, and boost national economies.
For his part, Al Mahrouqi expressed to KUNA his pride in visiting Kuwait upon an invitation from the Minister of Information to participate in the meeting, which aims to assess the tourism sector in the GCC and introduce new initiatives.
Al-Mahrouqi stated that the Gulf region is no longer solely reliant on oil production but has gained global recognition for its diverse culture and contributions to international cultural and entertainment initiatives. (end)
