KUWAIT, Feb 16 (KUNA) -- The 27th planeload of humanitarian aid took off from Kuwait to Damascus International airport on Sunday carrying on board 40 tons of medical necessities.
This was organized by Kuwaiti Relief Society in cooperation with other charities and coordination with various state bodies.
Chief of the Relief Society's board of directors, Dr. Ibrahim Al-Saleh told KUNA that this is as per the directives of Kuwait leadership to supply Syrian people with the medicine, foodstuff and shelter essentials they need, especially considering the state of unrest and lack of adequate infrastructure.
As for the society's deputy general director, Omar Al-Thuwaini, he explained that the plane is carrying medical beds, oxygen concentrators and other necessary medical items.
The type of aid delivered is determined in coordination with the Syrian Red Crescent, indicated Al-Thuwaini.
Total of aid delivered to the Palestinian people has reached 697 tons today. (end)
