NEW DELHI, Feb 17 (KUNA) -- Amir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani arrived in New Delhi on Monday evening on an official two-day visit to cement bilateral relations.
He was received by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Indira Gandhi International Airport.
The Amir of Qatar is scheduled to hold discussions with Indian President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, covering various aspects of bilateral relations.
In an earlier statement, Indian Ministry of External Affairs said both countries have deep-rooted historical ties of friendship, trust and mutual respect. Trade, investment, energy, technology, culture and people-to-people ties have continued to strengthen in recent decades.
The visit of Qatar's Amir will provide further momentum to the growing multifaceted partnership, the statement said, adding this would be the second visit of Sheikh Tamim to India; his first being in March 2015. (end)
