MOSCOW, Feb 17 (KUNA) -- Yuri Ushakov, Russia President Vladimir Putin's foreign affairs aide, underlined on Monday his country's willingness to hold fruitful negotiations with the US side in Riyadh about Ukraine on Tuesday, tomorrow.
The US-Russian talks on Ukraine would focus on determining a mechanism to start negotiations to reach a settlement for ending the ongoing conflict, Ushakov said in a briefing statement after heading to Riyadh.
In a news statement, Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, who is accompanying Ushakov, said the Russian delegation is determined to listen to US partners during the planned meeting in Riyadh.
He stressed that they would present a report to the Russian leadership on the talks to evaluate the meeting's outcomes to take decisive decisions regarding the upcoming steps.
Lavrov noted that there is no possible taking about "regional concessions" for Ukraine within the framework of settlement.
The US may play a key role in solving the Ukrainian conflict if it is serious to support settlement, he stated. (end) dan.mah.hm
