MANAMA, Feb 18 (KUNA) -- Bahrain will host the Intra-Islamic Dialogue Conference on Wednesday, themed "One Nation, One Shared Destiny," under the patronage of King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, with broad international participation.
The conference will be attended by Dr. Ahmad Al-Tayyeb, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif and Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders, alongside over 400 Islamic scholars, religious leaders, intellectuals, and experts from across the Islamic world.
The initiative follows the Grand Imam's call during Bahrain's Dialogue Forum in November 2022 to strengthen Islamic unity and reinforce dialogue among Muslim scholars.
The conference aims to transition from discussions on rapprochement to a structured dialogue on shared principles and challenges.
It seeks to establish a permanent platform for scholarly engagement, emphasizing areas of consensus among Muslim communities and the role of religious leadership in bridging sectarian divides, countering hate speech, and fostering mutual respect.
The two-day conference aims to unify perspectives on key issues strengthen solidarity among Islamic groups and build on pas dialogues to advance unity.
By hosting this conference at this particular time, Bahrain reaffirms its commitment to Arab and Islamic causes, global peace and fostering Muslim unity through dialogue. (end)
