CAIRO, Feb 18 (KUNA) -- The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Immigration announced Tuesday that Egypt will host an emergency Arab summit on March 4th to address the ongoing developments regarding the Palestinian issue.
According to a statement from the ministry, preparations for the summit are well underway, both in terms of substance and logistics.
The decision to set this new date follows coordination with Bahrain, the current chair of the Arab League summit at the level of heads of state, and consultation with other Arab nations.
The Egyptian Foreign Ministry previously indicated its intention to present a comprehensive proposal for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, with a focus on ensuring the continued presence of the Palestinian people on their land, in alignment with their legitimate and legal rights.
The summit, which comes in response to widespread regional and international concerns, is aimed at fostering a unified Arab position on the displacement of the Palestinian population. This development follows condemnation of US President Donald Trump's proposal to control the Gaza Strip.
