RIYADH, (KUNA) -- The Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jassem Al-Budaiwi, met on Wednesday with the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General and Head of the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI), Mohammad Al-Hassan.
According to a statement from the GCC Secretariat, the two sides discussed the latest developments regarding the mission's efforts in supporting sustainable development in Iraq.
During the meeting, Al-Budaiwi reaffirmed the GCC's commitment to the resolutions of the 45th session of the Supreme Council, particularly in supporting all UN and international decisions related to Iraq.
He called on the Iraqi government to cooperate in resolving all pending issues, especially those related to Kuwait and Iraq, and to exert maximum efforts toward achieving a final resolution to these matters.
The statement further noted that the discussions focused on several key topics, including supporting the Iraqi government and people, as well as exploring ways to enhance cooperation between the two sides. (end) ase.sam
