DOHA, Feb 19 (KUNA) - Qatar's Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani discussed Wednesday the Palestinian issue and the necessity of adhering to the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.
This came during an official session of talks held at the Republican Palace in the Iranian capital, Tehran, said Qatari Amiri Diwan.
Sheikh Tamim stressed the commitment of Qatar and its mediation partners to the success of the agreement, which represents an essential step towards a permanent ceasefire in Gaza.
He also went on ensuring the unhindered entry of humanitarian aid, putting an end to the suffering of civilians, paving the way for reconstruction, and working to achieve a just and comprehensive settlement.
The two sides also discussed the importance of the success of the comprehensive political process in Syria.
The Iranian President touched on the strength of the bilateral ties between the two countries and the officials, praising the neighborly relations, historical friendship and constructive communication that unite Qatar and Iran. (end) sss.aa
