KUWAIT, Feb 19 (KUNA) -- Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya congratulated on Wednesday the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on the advent of the Saudi Founding Day, which coincided with Kuwait's national celebrations.
In a press statement while partaking in the Saudi Embassy celebrations, Minister Al-Yahya expressed his joy on the advent of the dear Saudi occasion.
On his part, Saudi Ambassador to Kuwait Prince Sultan bin Saad Al-Saud said in a press release that the Saudi Founding day was to celebrate the establishment of the first Saudi state by Imam Mohammad bin Saud on February 22, 1727.
The establishment of the first Saudi state was based on Arab and Islamic values and Sharia, two cornerstones that continued through the establishment of the second state, he indicated.
The level of representation at the Saudi Embassy celebrations reflected the strength of Kuwaiti-Saudi ties as well as Saudi-international relations, he affirmed.
Asked about the US-Russian meeting in Riyadh yesterday, the Saudi diplomat indicated that any outcomes from the meeting would be detailed by the Foreign Ministry in a statement.
The Saudi Founding Day celebration came to be through a Royal order by King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud in January 2022, which dedicated February 22 for the occasion. (end) ae.gta
