KUWAIT, Feb 20 (KUNA) - Central bank governors from within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) bloc assembled for talks in Kuwait on Thursday, presided over by Kuwaiti central bank chief Basel Al-Haroon.
The gathering aims to ratchet up financial and monetary cooperation across the six-member bloc, Kuwait's central bank said in a statement, citing a slew of pressing matters on the agenda for the talks, chief among them cybersecurity and the latest financial technology practices.
Regional efforts to clamp down on money laundering and terrorism financing were also discussed, according to the statement, underlining that the talks are part of routine gathering that seek to bolter cooperation between GCC central banks. (end) fnk.nam
