ISLAMABAD, Feb 20 (KUNA) - The Embassy of the State of Kuwait in Pakistan on Thursday hosted a gratifying and delightful ceremony here in federal capital Islamabad to mark the 64th National Day and 34th anniversary of the Liberation Day of the State of Kuwait.
In his message on the occasion, the Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to Pakistan Nassar Abdulrahman J. Almutairi extended his heartfelt congratulations and felicitations to His Highness Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Amir of the State of Kuwait, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah and to the loyal people of Kuwait.
He said that "our national celebrations are a cherished occasion for all of us because it is a day of affirming our loyalty, belonging, and love for the sacred land of Kuwait, its wise leadership, and its sincere people. It is also a day of honoring our fathers, grandfathers, and the righteous martyrs who sacrificed their lives, wealth, health, and time to make Kuwait what it is today, a country of constitution, democracy, law, freedoms, and generosity".
"The National Day reinforces to all of us that love for the homeland comes before love for oneself, and it constantly reminds us to think, strive, and work towards a bright present and a prosperous future for Kuwait and its people, with Allah's will. The security, stability, prosperity, and comprehensive developmental renaissance that our country enjoys in all sectors are the result of the wise directives of our leader, His Highness the Amir of the State of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah" he said.
He further noted that the celebration in Pakistan reflects the deep fraternal ties between the two countries.
"Kuwait and Pakistan have nurtured a partnership based on mutual respect and shared goals for over six decades. In 2023, we celebrated the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations with a joint logo and a commemorative postal stamp and symbols of our enduring cooperation.
"Our relations continue to strengthen this bond through agreements in trade, culture, and development. The State of Kuwait highly appreciates Pakistan's steadfast support for its just causes, just as we stand with Pakistan in safeguarding its sovereignty and development.
"We proudly remember the heroic resilience of the Kuwaiti people and their unwavering will to reject injustice and aggression, and we acknowledge with gratitude the decisive and courageous stance of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, its leadership, government, and people, in supporting Kuwait during the brutal Iraqi invasion, a support that will always remain in the hearts of every Kuwaiti," he added.
The Ambassador said that on the 25th and 26th of February each year, Kuwaitis reaffirm their love for the homeland, expressing their unity with their leadership for the elevation and stability of the nation.
He said that the celebrations of the National Day and Liberation Day embody the spirit of the dear Kuwait, which always reminds us of the value of sacrifice and loyalty to a dear homeland, with its wise leadership and loyal people continuing its march towards progress and prosperity, retaining its authentic values and development process.
"These occasions remain an opportunity to affirm the pledge with the homeland, dedication to its service, and strive to build a brighter future for our future generations, may Kuwait remain a symbol of giving and goodness, and may Allah preserve it as an asset for its people," he concluded.
The Chief Guest of the ceremony, Pakistan's Federal Minister for Industries and Production Rana Tanveer Hussain in a statement to KUNA on the occasion congratulated and extended his best wishes for the people of Kuwait on behalf of Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif and people of Pakistan.
He said that Kuwait is a brotherly country with a long history of cooperation with Pakistan which will likely be extended in the coming days.
"We look forward to extending and strengthening our cooperation in industry, commerce, trade, defense and every possible aspect in the years to come."
He prayed for the long-lasting friendship and cementing ties between the two countries.
Ambassadors and diplomats of several countries, prominent Pakistani politicians, and other high-ranking officials attended the ceremony in an atmosphere of harmony and brotherhood. (end)
