KUWAIT, Feb 20 (KUNA) -- Embassies and consulates of Kuwait in multiple countries have begun celebrating the anniversary of Kuwait's 64th National Day and the 34th Liberation Day in the presence of an official and diplomatic rally with a number of attendees from ministers, ambassadors, and officials.
On this occasion the consulate in Dubai and northern UAE, alongside embassies in Belgium, Thailand, Albania, Azerbaijan, Lebanon and Algeria celebrated the occasions of both the National and Liberation days.
In a statement to KUNA the Consul General of Kuwait in Dubai Khalid Al-Zaabi during the celebrations presented highest congratulations and blessings to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and to Kuwait's government and people on this occasion, wishing the country with perpetuate security and safety.
The event was held in an atmosphere that reflected the national spirit and pride with various artistic and cultural paragraphs, with the history of Kuwait reviewed through paintings that reflect the stages of development of the country.
Several Kuwaiti companies partook in the celebrations showcasing their products and services, where pavilions showcased their role in supporting the national economy and promoting sustainable development.
In Brussels Ambassador to Belgium and Head of its mission to the European Union and NATO Nawaf Al-Enzi, said during the celebrations that Kuwait is keen and committed to strengthen distinguished relations with Belgium, EU, and NATO in various fields, expressing his appreciation for the high-level presence.
The ceremony was attended by officials from Belgium, European Special Envoy for the GCC Luigi Di Maio, NATO special Envoy for the Southern Region Javier Colomena, deputies from the European and Belgian parliament, as well as editors in chief of European newspapers and media channels.
The Charge D'Affairs of the Embassy in Lebanon, Counselor Yassin Al-Majedi said in a speech during the ceremony, "the exceptional relations with their uniqueness between Kuwait and the Lebanese since its establishment in 1961 are attested by Kuwait's position on Lebanon as well as Lebanon's position on Kuwait, as brotherly relations are rooted historically and cannot be counted, and hearts of Kuwaitis are full of love for the Lebanese people." In Algiers, the Kuwaiti embassy held a function to celebrate the national days and Acting Charge D'Affairs Khaled Al Yuha welcomed the guests including Algerian finance minister. He lauded the deep-rooted relations between Kuwait and Algeria. He added that he is looking forward to strengthening ties between the two Arab nations. (end) kt.aq
