KUWAIT, Feb 21 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's 30th relief flight from Kuwait's air bridge departed on Friday to Damascus International Airport, carrying 10 tons of food aid, as part of "Kuwait By Your Side" campaign.
Kuwait Zakat House, in coordination with the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Defense, as well as Kuwait Air Force, organized this latest initiative.
In a pre-takeoff statement to KUNA, Zakat House's Observer of Projects and External Bodies Ayed Al-Mutairi said his charity would keep delivering various relief aid to the Syrian people, especially with the approaching of the holy month of Ramadhan, at the behest of the political leadership.
He added that Kuwait's 30th aid plane contains foodstuff involving flour, oil and date, with a view to answering the needs of the Syrian people.
He added that today's humanitarian supplies were determined in coordination with Syrian Arab Red Crescent, revealing that 20 trucks carrying relief supplies would be sent to Syria in the coming period.
This plane is Kuwait Zakat House's sixth relief flight, bringing its overall aid shipments to 168 tons of the Kuwaiti air bridge to Syria, which now stands at a total of 727 tons. (end)
