BEIRUT, 21 Feb (KUNA) -- The Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union (AIPU) reaffirmed, Friday, its full support for Lebanon's sovereignty over all its territory and its right to use all means necessary to secure the withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces.
In a statement, AIPU stressed the need for Israeli occupation's full withdrawal from occupied Lebanese territories in line with international law and UN resolutions, especially Resolution 1701, emphasizing the importance of global action to enforce compliance.
It called for firm international measures to counter Israeli occupation's ongoing violations and oppose the imposition of a new status quo that reinforces occupation and control over Arab territories.
Lebanon recently reiterated in a presidential statement that any Israeli occupation presence on its land constitutes occupation under international law.
This followed Israeli occupation's withdrawal on Tuesday from several southern Lebanese villages while maintaining positions in key border areas. (end)
