Reopening KUWAIT, Feb 21 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's diplomatic missions in Slovakia, Switzerland, Brunei and Italy celebrated the country's 64th National Day and 34th Liberation Day with official events attended by ministers, ambassadors and senior guests.
Permanent Representative of the State of Kuwait to UN Office and other International Organizations in Geneva Nasser Al-Hayen said the national celebrations strengthen global ties and reaffirmed Kuwait's commitment to collective action for a more peaceful and prosperous world. Al-Hayen emphasized that this event reflects Kuwait's cooperative approach and openness to the world under the leadership of His Highness Amir Sheikh Mishaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.
Kuwait emphasizes a diplomatic approach that promotes international peace and security, which is evident from its UN Security Council membership (2018-2019) and ongoing role in the Human Rights Council until 2026. It seeks support for its continued membership until 2029. Al-Hayen affirmed Kuwait's dedication to humanitarian and human rights principles such as justice, gender equality, and the rights of vulnerable groups. He stressed the importance of tolerance and peaceful coexistence for human development within the New Kuwait 2035 vision framework. Kuwait has become a reliable international partner in humanitarian efforts, offering aid to crisis-affected countries through UN cooperation and bilateral initiatives. He wished the Kuwaiti government and people continued security and prosperity under the Amir's leadership. Al-Farhan highlighted the strong ties between Kuwait and Brunei, stressing the need to enhance these relations through senior official visits and increased economic and trade cooperation.
The ceremony showcased a presentation on Kuwait's economic and urban development, emphasizing infrastructure projects that attract foreign investment.

Kuwait Embassy in Rome hosted a reception to mark the 64th National Day and 34th Liberation Day with senior Italian officials, including the Undersecretary of the Italian Ministry of Defense and other dignitaries, taking part. Welcoming his guests, Ambassador to Italy Nasser Al-Qahtani praised the strong historical relations between Kuwait and Italy.
