JEDDAH, Feb 22 (KUNA) -- With a journey full of achievements, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia celebrates Saturday the founding day of the first Saudi state, established by Mohammad bin Saud in Diriyah.
In January 2022, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud issued a royal order to recognize February 22 of each year as a public holiday for Saudi Arabia's Founding Day anniversary to celebrate the history and the national unity of the Kingdom.
The establishment of the first Saudi state in February 22, 1727 is one of the greatest events in the modern history of the Arabian Peninsula, as it made Saudi Arabia one of the first countries to unify its regions and establish the foundations of security and stability.
When Mohammad bin Saud assumed power, he worked to establish unity in the state, secure regional stability, protect pilgrimage and trade routes, and regulate the resources and economic conditions of the state.
The capital of the first Saudi state, Diriyah, is located in the middle of the Arabian Peninsula, specifically in Al-Yamamah region, which occupies a large area of the Arabian Peninsula and is more than a thousand kilometers long from north to south and 500 kilometers wide, with the famous Tuwaiq mountain range in the middle.
The celebration of the Founding Day reflects pride in the country's deep historical roots and the strong ties between the political leadership and the people of Saudi Arabia, as well as pride in national unity, stability and security.
The visual identity of the Founding Day logo carries diverse historical meanings related to the glory, heroism and antiquity of the Saudi state, linking its prosperous present to its past, which extends deep into the history of the Arabian Peninsula.
The Kingdom is currently witnessing political, economic, social and cultural achievements and a prominent position in regional, Islamic and international leadership, becoming a center for dialogue and a platform for regional events and global initiatives in line with the Kingdom's ambitious 2030 Vision.
