JEDDAH, March 1 (KUNA) -- The Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation presented a pleading to the International Court of Justice seeking an advisory opinion on the obligations of the Israeli occupation authorities towards the activities of UN agencies, other international organizations and those from a third country in the occupied Palestinian territories.
The pleading falls in the framework of legal efforts to counter the malpractices of the Israeli occupations including the illegitimate ban imposed on the UNRWA activities in Palestine which took force on January 30, a statement from the OIC Secretariat noted on Saturday.
The OIC reaffirmed support to the UN aid agency which was founded by the UN General Assembly Resolution 212, dated November 19, 1948, to serve millions of displaced Palestinians. (end)
