CAIRO, March 2 (KUNA) -- Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Badr Abdelatty announced a blueprint for the post-war reconstruction of Gaza Strip, which will be tabled to the emergency Arab Summit, due in Cairo on Tuesday.
The plan will be presented in detail to international stakeholders only when approved by the Arab leaders, he said at a joint press conference with Vice President of the European Commission for Democracy and Demography Dubravka Suica on Sunday.
On the Gaza ceasefire-hostage release deal, the minister said Egypt pursues intensive efforts with other mediators to launch the second stage of the deal despite stubbornness of the Israeli occupation authorities.
Dr. Abdelatty slammed the Israeli occupation authorities for using the humanitarian aid as a weapon of collective punishment and starvation against the residents in Gaza Strip, which is "totally unacceptable." He was commenting on a decision made by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu yesterday to block the entry of relief aid into Gaza.
On her part, the EU senior official renewed support to the Palestinian National Authority and Egypt in their efforts to rebuild Gaza.
Egypt is the cornerstone of stability and security in the Middle East, Suica said, noting that the European Commission and Egypt have agreed a high-level political partnership. (pickup previous) mm.nsa.gb
