NEW DELHI, March 3 (KUNA) -- Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar will embark tomorrow, Tuesday, on an official visit to the UK and Ireland to strengthen ties, a statement from the Ministry said.
Jaishankar will embark on UK and Ireland visit from 04 - 09 March expecting to provide renewed impetus to India's ties with both UK and Ireland.
"India and the UK share a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, which has strengthened across diverse areas including defence, security, trade, economy, health, education, and people-to-people ties," according to the statement.
The Indian Minister is sheduled to hold discussions with his counterpart, Foreign Secretary David Lammy and will meet several other dignitaries as and the Indian community.
In Ireland, Jaishankar is to meet Irish counterpart, Simon Harris and other dignitaries and members of Indian community.
"India and Ireland share friendly bilateral relations based on shared democratic values, cultural ties and growing economic engagements," the statement said. (end)
