South Lebanon residents accompanied by the army tried to return to their villages on Monday, official media and AFP correspondents reported, a day after Israeli fire killed 24 people in the area.

Media reports said at least five people were wounded by Israeli fire in Houla and Bani Hayyan on Monday.
