February 10, 2025 (PORT SUDAN) – Sudan’s government has condemned the United Arab Emirates’ efforts to convene a conference on Sudan during the upcoming African Union summit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, describing the move as “an all-out aggression.” Sudan has filed a formal complaint with the UN Security Council against the UAE, accusing it of providing military equipment and sophisticated weapons to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) through Chad. “The UAE is making harmful moves to hold a special conference on the situation in Sudan on February 14, on the sidelines of the African Union summit,” said Malik Agar, deputy chairman of Sudan’s Sovereign Council, in a statement issued late Monday. He said the move constitutes a crime and a full-fledged aggression against an African country seeking to protect its land and sovereignty and contradicts the principles of the African Union, which are based on respect for sovereignty and unity.
