Three wildfires in the Los Angeles area that began Tuesday were being fueled by winds of up to 100 kph, burning homes and forcing the evacuation of thousands of residents. Fire swept through the upscale hillside neighbourhood of Pacific Palisades while another blaze broke out near a nature preserve.
